According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, there reason there has been talk about having Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series is because WWE wants to capitalize on the October 11th release of the WWE2K17 video game as much as they can. The idea is that doing the match in November would be the closest time to the release date possible. It would also make sense to have the match and promote the game during the peak of the holiday shopping season.
A Goldberg vs. Lesnar rematch from Wrestlemania 20 is reportedly going to be a one-off match. Regarding Wrestlemania, an opponent for Lesnar has apparently already been planned for months and the company wasn’t going to change those plans for Goldberg. Meltzer also reports that there are still “a lot of negative feelings” from people within the company about Goldberg’s previous run.
