As previously reported, WWE fired WWE creative team member Tom Casiello. Casiello was heavily involved in the push of the “divas revolution” on WWE programming and among other things on weekly television.
It’s being said that Casiello was well liked within the company, especially with the female talents. Casiello was said to be the guy who would help the females get more television time and also helped the ladies with anything related to Total Divas. We have also been told that it was his idea for the company to have Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte main event the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event last month.
In regards to his release from the company, we have learned that he was released because of “budgetary” reasons. Once other members of the staff heard that the company is making budget cuts again, it caused somewhat of a shakeup, as some are in fear of losing their jobs. We have also been told that Casiello’s job is being eliminated and no one is taking over his position.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if more cuts within WWE are made next week.
